Nobody Reads In L.A.

15 10 2007

That’s what I thought till I ran upon this original alternative book club. Nobody Reads In L.A. was designed to be the “Book Club for the Nightclub Set” with a mission  ” to put books into hands accustomed to holding cocktails.” I’m so down with that. This is a combination of my two favorite pasttimes; drinking and reading. I’m so there.

The 1st fall meeting will be held at Big Casey’s Bar and Grill on Wednesday, October 17 from 7pm-9ish. The book of choice is Wild at Heart by Barry Gifford. Some of you all might be familar with the movie by David Lynch, but as you know books are always better. So don’t try to cheat by renting the movie. You’ll miss out on a good read filled with sex and murder.

If you can’t make this meeting there will be another one next Thursday. So go out and buy the book and read, read, read. The books can be brought at Book Soup on Sunset.

Even if you haven’t read the book, I heard that you’re more then welcome to come and join the fun anyways. Bottoms ups and books out.

If the meeting wasn’t enough for you, on November 3, join author Barry Gifford at an exclusive “drink, dine, discuss” where you will get to Q&A him before you screen the movie. Email Nico Bella at info @ to purchase a seat at the table.
