Skating In Santa Monica

30 11 2007

It may not snow in SoCal, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t enjoy some winter fun. If you want to bring back some old childhood memories of ice skating on a frozen pond, then head to downtown Santa Monica to relieve that past. Spend the upcoming weeks with the family, skating the night away. This is a great place to spend a date with that special someone as you get up-close and personal. If you feel a need to warm up after hours of fun, then pop over to the Starbucks next door, who also sponsors this event. The skating rink is located less than two blocks from the Third Street Promenade. The rink is open daily and will be open till Jan 8, 2008.

Admission is just $10 including skate rental.

Hours of operation for the Ice Rink:

Sundays through Thursdays, 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Fridays, 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Saturdays and All School Holidays, 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Style Wars

26 11 2007

Long before the world had heard Tim Gunn tell designers “to make it work” on Project Runway, New York fashion artist, House of Diehl created Instant Couture. Now with that success, House of Diehl is ushering in the next generation of Instant Couture designers with STYLE WARS, where fast and furious creative peeps compete to create their own one of a kind couture out of anything they can lay their pretty hands on. This battle is coming to L.A. and taking place at that hipster headquarter Cinespace. Come out and watch this mash up of fashion, music, and art battle that is created in minutes – live, on stage — using the audience as the models, everyone as designers, and recycled-anything as material. 8 contenders go head to head to create fast fashion live for the title of Los Angeles Style Battle Champion, and $1000 in cash and prizes! Jody Watley and House of Diehl provide the battle hymn, I mean the music. Glad to know Mrs. Watley is still getting jobs. So before you go, make sure to grab your helmets because it looks like it might get messy. And who can blame them, for 1000 bucks, I’d fight my mama.

ThanksGiving Y’all

21 11 2007

Well tomorrow is turkey day. You can go out and party and not have to worry about work tomorrow. But you do have to worry about your crazy family. All I can say is drama and hangovers don’t mix. If your like me who is an orphan(ok i have a family, just no money to get to them) and have no place to go or just can’t deal with to much quality time with your drunk Uncle Bob, then there are a few bars that are holding some Thanksgiving shindigs that you can lose yourself in after the days drama. Skip out on your “real” family  after the feast and head for the hills to the nearest bars. Just good times and booze to be had. Plus you’ll be able to dance away those pounds you  gained from all that eating your greedy ass  did. Gobble, Gobble, ya’ll.

Akomplice Clothing-Dig This

16 11 2007

Art imitates Life.

Or maybe Life imitates Art.

Shit, what about ART imitating ART?

It’s easy to be inspired by the wealth of culture in the world.

There’s no end to music, philosophy, politics, current and social events.

But it’s NOT always easy to interpret this inspiration into some dope art of your own.

CITIZEN came across a clothing line that captures multiple facets of life, while staying true to their own medium: FASHION.

Akomplice Clothing hails from the unlikely location of Carbondale, Colorado.

But like the saying goes, “it’s not where you’re from, it’s where you’re at.”

Ill graphics, clever wordplay, bold statements. Akomplice gets their message across while you get to keep your status as the flyest person in the room.

Their 7th seasons drops Black Friday (November 23rd).

So make sure to have your nearest Akomplice retailer on your hit list…somewhere between Best Buy for a new big screen TV and Target for Ma Duke’s X-mas present.

For more info on where to buy:

P.S.: Ladies, be on the lookout for a full women’s line. They haven’t forgotten about us.

Citizen Crave-D&G Keys Charm Bracelet

13 11 2007

Time to replace your Tiffany charm bracelet.

Sure, you probably got it for your 16th birthday, or graduation, or the night your cherry got popped…so it holds sentimental value.

But seeing as though every female under the age of 30 has one (or a knockoff), don’t you think it’s time to upgrade?

Consider this replacement from Dolce & Gabbana.

Heavy duty chains, oversized lobster clasp, bold charms.

It even comes in a leather pouch.

Now that’s more like it. That old Tiffany charm bracelet signified your innocence, and we both know that went out the window a LONG time ago.

The D&G New Keys Charm Bracelet.

An official Citizen Crave.
